I trained the traditional way — a three-year articleship at an audit and assurance firm in Chennai, working across statutory audits, tax audits and book closure for companies in several industries. Somewhere in the middle of it I started writing code: first to stop repeating myself, then because the tooling turned out to be the more interesting problem.
Today I work on the same job from both ends — the accounting, and the automation of it.
